Polar Express 2011!

For about 9 years now, we've taken the girls to Williams, Arizona for their Polar Express experience. We ride the train to the North Pole (through a magic tunnel), where Santa climbs on board and gives each child a bell. En route, we listen to the story being read and relive the magic of Christmas.

The girls are 13 and 12 now, so this may be our last year. It's bittersweet, seeing them grow up, but I want to squeeze every ounce of childhood that I can from them for as long as I can!

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Happy 100th Day of School!

As a 2nd grade teacher, I like to get the kids excited about little things that make me excited. Our 100th day is on January 25th, 2011 and I made these fake $100 bills with their faces (blurred for their protection) on them. On the back is a sticker that says, "It's the 100th Day of school and you are worth 100 bucks! Love, Mrs. Berenter January 25th, 2011."

My daughter's 1st grade teacher made these for her (she is now in 6th grade) and she still has hers. I've always wanted to make them and this is my 2nd year doing it. About $5 and a few hours of my time for a fun keepsake!
